What are the different roles and permissions ClassroomParent provides?

Parents with an email address and Send Emails set to true

  • Can receive emails and weekly calendar
  • Can sign up themselves and spouses (other parents of their children) for volunteer opportunities
  • Can subscribe/pay dues (depending on how the school is configured)
  • Can update their contact information when sent the Contact Information Update Request email
  • Can register as a user

Parents that have registered as users

  • Can send messages to child’s class (if turned on for your school)
  • Can create groups
  • Can purchase items in the store
  • Can search for other parent/student information
  • Can update their own information
  • Can use the Neighbors functionality


    Community Members

    • Cannot register as a user
    • Can be assigned volunteer opportunities
    • Receives email about the volunteer opportunity they are signed up for

    Class Parent

    • Can email, setup events (and volunteer opportunities for the event), and upload materials for the class
    • Can email, setup events (and volunteer opportunities for the event), and upload materials for the grade

    Group Owners

    • Can e-mail, set-up events, and upload materials for their groups

    PTA Officers, Chairs and Co-Chairs (all have same privileges)

    • Can e-mail any class, grade or the whole school and teachers.
    • Can set-up events for any class, grade or the whole school and teachers.
    • Can upload materials for any class, grade or the whole school and teachers.

    Teachers

    • Can send messages to any classroom and any grade
    • Can set-up events for any classroom and any grade
    • Can not send messages to the whole school or set-up events for the whole school.
    • Must register as a user with the email address associated with their Teacher entry in CP. If they are also a parent in the school, they should use a different email address with the parent entry. They will need to log-in using the username and password associated with the teacher account
    • Can create groups

    Staff Member

    • Can send messages and create events for whole school
    • Can update parent records
    • Can move students from one classroom to another
    • Can add students to classroom
    • Can remove students from classroom/school
    • Can not also be listed as a teacher
    • Must register as a user with the email address associated with their Staff Member entry in CP. If they are also a parent in the school, they should use a different email address with the parent entry. They will need to log-in using the username and password associated with the staff member account.
    • Should enter personal address in parent entry if also a parent

    Admins

    • Can do everything that staff does, plus run reports, and exports, prepare for next year, etc.
    • Receive e-mails from people with questions about CP sent through the contact form.
    • Can change the settings for the school (i.e. name, address, etc)
    • Can initiate setup of Stripe
    • Can add/remove Admins
